Modern Meditation Chapel

Our weekly Downtime meditation gathering needed a more intimate and dedicated space, so I transformed our underused chapel with lighting, seating, and prayer stations.

On the far back wall, I collected free working lamps from people in our neighborhood and installed LED Edison bulbs in them. On the right wall, I purchased color LED up-lights to give the space a dusky purple glow.

I opened up the space with pews on the walls and pillows in the center so visitors will have a variety of ways to be comfortable.

Throughout the chapel are a number of interactive prayer areas, including a chalkboard with a weekly question, a candle table, coloring sheets, and finger labyrinths. I also rotate out additional interactive stations to keep the space new and different week after week.
